CSR – Get involved!

Organisations are giving back in droves through Corporate Social Responsibility programs and philanthropic activity.

CSR can range from having an environmental sustainability approach to waste management or renewable energy, reusing, recycling and reducing the use of consumables. It can include using ‘green’ supply chains, engaging in fair trade practices or even adopting energy efficient building design. Some organisations commit to making their products in a way that has minimal impact on the environment.
Other common CSR programs will include donations and raising money for local charities, providing volunteers, supporting events or providing goods and services.

CSR is about furthering social good, beyond the interests of the organisation and is driven by the ethical beliefs of senior management or owners. Organisations build a social value proposition into a corporate strategy and a few will establish Foundations to manage their strategy. The strategy will reflect to the organisations ethical standards and sense of responsibility towards the community and environment to it’s customers and it’s staff. It could be argued that organisations undertake CSR for strategic financial gain – but even so, they are acting responsibly and it is a choice to do so. Public attitude towards CSR will help drive continued involvement from organisations.

For us, its about giving back.

We are proud supporters of Zoos SA and their amazing work around animal conservation and education. Zoos SA is a conservation charity who exist to connect people with nature and save species from extinction. How about visiting the Adelaide or Monarto Zoos again soon and check it out for yourself
