About the Role:
Davies Stewart is excited to present the opportunity for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join the team at ZoosSA. This position is responsible for reviewing business and system requirements, developing project plans and documentation, and designing and modifying systems to meet business needs. This position will participate in and manage system implementation and improvement projects. A high degree of autonomy and self-motivation is expected.
Duties:
Undertake specialist administrative tasks and maintain all required records to an acceptable standard.
Ensure timesheets and associated forms are completed to required standards.
Knowledge of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Policy and Procedures
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Organisational Strategic Plan, including Aspiration, Purpose, Values and Goals.
Prepare reports and recommendations to present to management.
Participate in committee work and meetings as required.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
Assist in the review and implementation of management policies.
Ensure regular auditing of systems within area of responsibility.
Manage service provision and respond promptly to customer needs and requests.
Assist in the co-ordination of the Zoo component of joint research projects.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key suppliers.
Work with users to formulate and document business requirements
Identify, investigate, and analyse business processes, procedures and work practices
Identify and evaluate inefficiencies, and recommend optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
Use project management methodologies, principles and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
Take responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting and implementing system test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system
Create user and training documentation, and conduct formal training classes
Develop functional specifications for use by system developers
Use data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
Act as a central reference and information
Assist with providing guidance to Zoo staff, volunteers and work experience students.
Manage the training and development of staff
Provide guidance to Media personnel, Zoo staff, volunteers and work experience students as required.
Maintain relations with key staff across the organisation in order to be aware of media opportunities and threats.
Skills:
Liaise with software support vendors to resolve technical software problems
Arrange personal and teamwork routines and practices to make optimum use of time and resources.
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, contacts, potential sponsors and suppliers.

Experience:
SQL query writing
SQL database administration
SQL Reporting Service report writing
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system implementation and maintenance
Data Migration techniques
Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting software/database problems
Experience with database architecture design and implementation
Knowledge and experience with Software testing and deployment
Extensive knowledge in application of software.
Demonstrate an operational understanding of computer hardware/software configurations.
Knowledge and experience of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Management tools and methodologies.
Well-developed techniques in conflict resolution.
Knowledge, understanding of, and full compliance with Workplace Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities legislation and practices in the work place.
Qualifications:
Technical qualification in Management Information Systems or equivalent
