About the role:
Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park are proud to welcome more than half a million people through the gates each year (and they are not slowing down!). With the roll out of a 20-Year Master Plan and a number of exciting projects on the horizon, Zoos SA are thrilled to be expanding and evolving their workforce to position them for continued growth into the future.
In partnership with Zoos SA, we are searching for an experienced People and Performance Consultant to join the team. This role will be involved in all aspects of the people function (focussed on Monarto Safari Park), providing support and exceptional services to all stakeholders. This is an exciting time for Monarto Safari Park, as one of the largest open range zoos in the world, spanning more than 1,500 hectares of fauna and flora, a new Visitor Centre which opened in March 2022 and in the near future first-of-its-kind luxury resort and glamping facilities and new Wild Africa exhibits.
Duties:
Provide assistance to the Director of People & Performance during EBA negotiation periods.
Provide first line management with the efficient and effective People & Performance services, including industrial relations, training and development, equal opportunity, workplace health and safety.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of relevant Policy and Procedures, Collective Agreements and Awards and legislation as appropriate.
Maintain a current working knowledge of all relevant legislation and changes that may affect the Zoos SA and ensure these are highlighted, reported and enacted upon as appropriate.
Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant statutes e.g. WHS legislation.
Ensure proper and timely management, recording and secure storage of personnel and related information.
Prepare statistical analysis of People & Performance related information as required.
Facilitate effective communication between management, staff and external parties as required.
Review legislation and provide updates and advice to management as required.
Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation, EBA, Human Resource management practices and organisational processes which provide effective, consistent and timely delivery of P&P services to support organisational needs
Assist line managers in the development and review of job descriptions, including providing assistance with Career progressions and classifications.
Provide assistance to staff and managers in relation to P&P matters as required.
Contribute to the development and delivery of People & Performance Strategy and associated documentation.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the Zoos SA collective agreement, remuneration strategies, salaried contracts and associated negotiations.
Assist in delivery of all People & Performance functions, including employee and industrial relations, learning and development and WHS (including the provision of providing administrative support in the way of agendas and minutes).
Manage and update employee contracts and contractual changes to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
Provide P&P advice to Zoos SA managers in relation to Zoos SA Policy and Procedures, Legislation or Awards, Employee Relations/Industrial Relations matters.
Be responsible for Service Award information being collated and awards prepared annually for Service Award night.
Skills & Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Administration and Business or related areas.
Successful completion of appropriate courses in areas of Superannuation, Workers Compensation, Enterprise Bargaining or Human Resource Practices
Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, including discretion and confidentiality.
Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret legal documents and data.
Highly developed organisational and administrative skills.
Well-developed computer literacy skills within the Microsoft Office environment.
Maintains a pleasant disposition even when under pressure.
Involvement in the establishment of team goals and objectives and actively contributes to the achievement of these.
