About the Role:
The Strategic Policy and External Relations Division (SPER) works across the Department for Education to facilitate best practice strategy and policy development and coordinate a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement. The Division is comprised of the following directorates and business units:
Office of the Executive Director
Strategic Policy
External Relations
National Relations and Policy
Communications
International Education Services
The Business Support Officer coordinates and undertakes a range of administrative functions to support the Executive Director, Strategic Policy and External Relations. The role coordinates high quality correspondence, briefings and submissions, and ensures the efficient management and timeliness of all correspondence through the office. The role provides excellent client and service delivery to a range of internal and external stakeholders, and gives advice on the delivery of administrative procedures, systems and workflows which support the achievement of efficient work practices for the office, the directorate and across the broader Division. The Business Support Officer role demands a high level of confidentiality, discretion and judgement, and is subject to periods of high intensity workload, with rapidly changing priorities, where meeting deadlines is essential.
Qualifications:
Essential: Nil
Desirable: Experience in the use of Objective, Basware and HR and financial reporting systems.
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:
ASO4 $76,561 - $80,256 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
