About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Systems Administrator. Reporting to the Manager, Information Services, you will be responsible for ensuring that responses to requests for technical assistance are handled in a friendly, helpful manner and that technical issues are diagnosed and resolved effectively and efficiently.

Provide first and second level information, communication and technology support in person, via phone, or electronically.
Administer the service desk system and the full service request life cycle, including responding, categorising and troubleshooting issues and providing effective and timely solutions, with particular focus on follow-up and knowledge management.
Assist and support end users with: desktop hardware, software and peripheral devices; telephone system, including mobile phones and assets; and specialist information, communication and technology equipment within offsite locations.
Maintain a multi-platform, complex computer environment, including virtualisation and unified computing services.
Configure and install computer hardware, software, systems, networks and peripheral, including virtual desktop environments.
Deploy and maintain mobile devices and services.
Assign and maintain IT system security profiles in line with the security policies.
Maintain the IT assets register.
Monitor and maintain the Local Area Network (LAN), Wider Area Network (WAN) and communications infrastructure to meet the system availability targets.
Install and maintain LAN/WAN and telecommunications infrastructure equipment
Assist in developing complex technical specification for the design or purchase of communications equipment, including fibre optic systems, high-speed cable, voice/data switches and routers, and related equipment.
Document user manuals and deliver training programs to users of new and existing systems.
Work with Business Units with departmental process reviews to explore and recommend technological solutions to improve efficiencies.
Assist with educating staff in the use of technology and application software, especially the Microsoft Suite of products.
Skills and Experience
Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM concepts.
Knowledge of information / database management systems, processes and principles.
Knowledge of spatial information systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of Local Area Networks, Wider Area Networks and communication concepts, solutions and products.
Working knowledge of Microsoft software products and associated software.
General understanding of virtual desktop and server environments.
Experience in CIVICA Authority administration.
Experience or certificate in Microsoft SQL and Server administration.
Experience with VMware Horizon.
Experience or qualification in GIS discipline.
National Criminal History (Police) Clearance;
Current Driver’s licence;
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a System Support role, preferably with Objective, Authority, Spectrum Spatial Analyst, SharePoint and Exchange; and
Microsoft, Cisco/Fortinet accreditation.
Experience in network administration.
2 years hands-on support experience with the Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office product suite.
