Project Officer - Assets

Reporting to the Project Manager you will play a key role in the strategic forward planning and management of the city’s civil infrastructure assets, building assets, open space assets and recreational assets. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and update of projects, asset management plans, strategies and policies
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to conduct negotiations and finalise agreements
  • Assist in the preparation of all contracts, tenders, legal documentation, deeds and agreements
  • Assist in the review, amendment and update of asset management plans in accordance with council requirements and objectives
  • Assist with the development of detailed designs and reports
  • Assist with all financial reporting, audits, state and government grants
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and assist with any documentation required to seek external funds and grants
  • Assist in the management of consultants, contractors and technical specialists who are acting for and on behalf of the council
  • Investigate, manage and coordinate traffic management issues and enquiries in consultation with relevant parties
     

Skills & Experience: 

  • Hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Building Construction or other related disciplines
  • Extensive experience in asset management/planning and the delivery of planning projects for civil infrastructure, drainage, buildings and open space
  • Knowledge of asset management principles
  • Knowledge of civil infrastructure construction
  • Knowledge of interpreting legislation, acts and guidelines
  • Have a good understanding of tendering, project and contract management principles  
  • A working knowledge of local government responsibilities is highly advantageous
  • Hold a current driver’s licence
  • Hold a current police clearance or willing to obtain one
