About the role

The Accounts Payable Officer will accurately and efficiently process all creditors functions. You will provide information and support to internal and external customers and undertake a range of administrative duties, including customer enquiries.

  • Generate and maintain creditor accounts

  • File and archive remittances

  • Respond to creditor enquiries

  • Reconcile creditor statements to the ledger

  • Monitor, prepare and follow up cheque and EFT payments

  • Process requisitions for services and supplies and issue purchase orders and generate reports

  • Data entry

  • Process petty cash reimbursements

  • Assist Business Unit members with administrative duties as required.

  • Prepare and record details for FBT entertainment

  • Maintain the finance team’s stationery supplies.

Skills and experience

  • Highly experienced in accounts payable and creditor processes in a local government, federal or state government environment 

  • Recent use of and very competent in the use of Technology One software

  • Must have a current National Police Clearance

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office

  • Sound numerical skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Excellent customer service skills
